Detailed Description:

An entirely new concept in flexible Transfer Machine technology called the
NAD 4, built by Namco.

The machine targets extremely accurate, small parts requiring intricate
multi-side machining when the user needs to produce from bar or coil stock.
Typical industries targeted include high security locks, fuel injection,
dental, medical, and defense parts.

Unlike most Trunnion Machines, each Station on the NAD 4 allows multiple
machining cassettes. Pre-machining is done opposite Station 1 where bar or
wire is loaded.

The NAD 4 is a Four-Station CNC Transfer Machine in Trunnion (ferris wheel)
Style that offers Five Machining Platforms. Each of the Five Platforms can
accommodate standard multiple machining unit cassettes for drilling,
milling, tapping, and turning. The Platform Design allows the user to
accommodate up to 36 working spindles on one Machine. Each Platform is
mounted on multi-axis CNC Slides. The CNC Slides allow the user to perform
multiple machining operations at each Station for extremely fast movements.
Units are available to 20,000 RPMs.

The bar or coil stock enters the Machine in a separate Satellite Station
(Position 1) where a number of pre-machining operations are possible before
the part is cut off and enters the Four-Station Clamping Table. (This entry
table is not included with this machine but may be available for an
additional $35,000.00 U.S.) The Satellite Station also allows a full C
Axis for Radial Part Positioning or Continuous Rotation when very close run-
outs are required. This machine configuration allows the user to produce
small, medium, and large volume parts with very short changeover times. An
Allen-Bradley CNC allows control of up to 30 axes. Bar capacity is 28mm
(1.10") Diameter.

Previous Use: This Rotating Transfer Machine with Vertical Table was
manufacturing brass lock cylinders for the hardware industry but can be
reprogrammed and retooled for many other applications.
