(2.) CONTAINS A PERMANENTLY MOUNTED ELECTRIC LIGHT TO INTERNAL ILLUMINATION OF
THE EXTRUSION EXIT HOLE.
TIE RODS: THE TIE RODS ARE OF 4140 ALLOY STEEL, FORGED, QUENCHED, AND
TEMPERED TO 220/260 BRINELL. SPLIT NUTS ARE USED THROUGHOUT: INCLUDING THE
SHOULDER UNITS WHICH PERMIT PRE-STRESSING THE RODS 10% ABOVE THE RATED PRESS
CAPACITY.
DIE SLIDE: THE DIE SLIDE IS OF FORGED STEEL AND ARRANGED WITH A "U" SLOT FOR
THE DIE ASSEMBLY AND PUSH-THROUGH HOLE FOR RAPID EMERGENCY REMOVAL OF
UNEXTRUDED BILLETS. MOVEMENT OF THE DIE SLIDE IS ACCOMPLISHED BY A DOUBLE-
ACTING HYDRAULIC CYLINDER CAPABLE OF DELIVERING FULL POWER FOR ITS ENTIRE
STROKE.
EXTRUSION TOOLS: CONSIST OF ONE EXTRUSION STEM AND ONE ELECTRICALLY HEATED
CONTAINER ASSEMBLED WITH A TAPER FITTED LINER, THE CONTAINER HEAT IS PROVIDED
BY 30 NICKEL SILVER SHEATHED CARTRIDGE ELEMENTS FOR A TOTAL OF 27 KW.
